Information For Authors

DHSC publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research that applies computational methods to humanities and social science problems. We welcome submissions that demonstrate innovative approaches to understanding human culture, society, and behavior through digital technologies.

1. Initial Submission: Submit your manuscript through our online submission system. All manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial office for compliance with journal guidelines.
2. Editorial Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor will assess the manuscript for suitability and originality.
3. Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment will be sent to at least two independent reviewers for double-blind peer review.
4. Decision: The editor will make a decision based on the reviewers' comments. Decisions include: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
5. Revision: Authors are invited to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' comments.
6. Final Approval: Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the editor and reviewers.
7. Publication: Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, typeset, and published online immediately.

DHSC is committed to transparency and reproducibility in research. All authors are required to make the data and code underlying their findings publicly available upon publication, unless there are compelling ethical or legal reasons not to do so.

• All datasets must be deposited in a public repository with a permanent DOI
• All custom code must be deposited in a public repository with a permanent DOI
• Detailed documentation and README files must be provided
• All preprocessing steps and parameters must be clearly described
• Exceptions may be granted for sensitive or proprietary data

DHSC adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics. We follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

• All manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere
• All authors must have made significant contributions to the work
• All sources must be properly cited and acknowledged
• Competing interests must be disclosed
• Ethical approval must be obtained for research involving human or animal subjects
• Plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of misconduct are not tolerated
