Reviewer Responsibilities
As a reviewer, you are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based feedback
- Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscript content and review discussion
- Decline invitations where conflict of interest exists
- Evaluate originality, significance, methodology, and reporting quality
- Submit reviews within agreed timelines or request extension early
- Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical misconduct
Review Process
1) Invitation
- Receive title/abstract and invitation by email
- Accept or decline within 3 business days
- Suggest alternatives if declining (optional)
2) Assessment
- Access manuscript in OJS reviewer dashboard
- Evaluate structure, methods, evidence, and novelty
- Typical review window: 2–3 weeks
3) Recommendation
- Submit comments to authors and confidential notes to editor
- Provide clear recommendation and rationale
- Flag major risks (ethics, data integrity, plagiarism)
4) Follow-up
- May be invited to assess revised versions
- Receive editorial outcome notifications
- Annual reviewer acknowledgment where applicable
Review Criteria
- Originality: Novel contribution relative to existing literature
- Relevance: Fit with journal scope and readership
- Methodology: Appropriate design, reproducibility, and rigor
- Results: Data quality, analytical soundness, and presentation clarity
- Interpretation: Conclusions supported by evidence and limitations acknowledged
- Writing Quality: Logical flow, precision, and scholarly tone
- References: Adequate, current, and accurately cited
- Research Ethics: Compliance for human/animal/data research where applicable
Recommendation Types
Accept
Suitable for publication with no substantive changes.
Minor Revisions
Publishable after limited clarifications/edits.
Major Revisions
Substantial improvements required, typically re-review.
Reject & Resubmit / Reject
Not suitable in current form; major redevelopment or out-of-scope.
Conflict of Interest
Please decline review if objectivity may be affected, including:
- Recent collaboration with authors (typically within 3 years)
- Same institution or direct reporting relationship
- Financial/personal interests related to the manuscript
- Competing intellectual property or direct competitive conflict
If uncertain, contact the editorial office before accepting.
