Biomedical Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (BDSAI) adopts transparent and reasonable article processing charge policy. As an open access journal, APC supports daily editorial operation, peer review management, manuscript publishing and long-term data preservation, enabling all published research to be freely accessible to global readers.

1. Introduction to Article Processing Charge

APC is a one-time service fee only charged after the manuscript passes peer review and gets formal acceptance. The journal will not collect any fees at the submission stage. All charges are used to maintain academic publishing quality, and no extra hidden expenses will be generated during the whole publishing process. Color images, supplementary documents and manuscript length will not bring additional charges.

2. Official Pricing Standard

To encourage high-quality research submission during the founding period, the journal sets preferential launch price and formal standard price separately. All articles accepted in 2026 enjoy the exclusive founding discount price at $490 USD. From 2027 onwards, the regular standard APC will be adjusted to $790 USD. The pricing policy applies equally to all types of manuscripts accepted by the journal.

3. Services Covered by APC

The unified fee covers complete publishing supporting services, including whole-process double-blind peer review organization, professional language revision and typesetting layout, standardized graphic optimization processing, exclusive permanent DOI assignment, long-term secure digital archiving, global online release under CC BY 4.0 open access license, and academic platform promotion and retrieval docking.

4. Discount and Waiver Policy

Founding editorial team members, associate editors and regular reviewers can enjoy fifty percent exclusive discount on personal submitted manuscripts. Authors affiliated with low-income countries defined by World Bank can apply for full APC waiver, and researchers from middle-income regions can apply for partial cost reduction. Specially invited review papers and special issue contribution manuscripts can be published free of charge after official confirmation.

5. Payment Rules & Methods

After manuscript acceptance, the corresponding author will receive formal electronic invoice and detailed payment guidance. Available payment channels include international credit card payment, cross-border bank wire transfer, third-party secure payment and institutional official purchase order settlement. Valid payment receipt will be provided for academic reimbursement use. Fees are non-refundable once the formal publishing procedure starts.
