Digital Business & Innovation Management (DBIM) is committed to transparent, accessible, and fair pricing for all authors. As an open access journal, we operate under the Article Processing Charge (APC) model, which ensures published research is freely available to readers worldwide, while supporting the editorial, peer review, and publishing services that maintain our journal’s quality and integrity.

1. About Article Processing Charges (APCs)

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is a one-time fee paid only after your manuscript is accepted for publication. Unlike subscription-based journals, which charge readers or institutions for access, our open access model uses APCs to cover peer review management, professional copyediting and formatting, DOI registration, long-term digital archiving, platform maintenance, and global dissemination of your work. All APCs fund journal services and do not include commercial profit margins.

2. DBIM APC Pricing Structure

DBIM offers a simple, all-inclusive pricing structure with no hidden fees or variable charges based on manuscript type or length. The standard APC for all accepted manuscripts is $790 USD. As part of our 2026 launch period, we are offering a discounted rate of $490 USD for all manuscripts submitted and accepted between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. This launch rate applies to all article types, including research articles, review articles, case studies, and conceptual papers.

3. What the APC Covers

Your APC includes all services required to publish and promote your work in DBIM. This includes: full management of the double-blind peer review process, professional copyediting and proofreading, standard formatting to meet journal guidelines, assignment of a unique DOI for permanent citation, long-term digital archiving to preserve your work, publication under the CC BY 4.0 open access license, and promotion of your article through the journal’s website and academic networks. DBIM does not charge additional fees for color images, supplementary materials, or manuscript length.

4. APC Discounts and Waivers

We are committed to supporting authors from diverse backgrounds and regions. In addition to our 2026 launch discount, we offer APC waivers and partial discounts based on the World Bank’s country income classification for authors affiliated with institutions in low-income and lower-middle-income countries. Eligible authors may apply for full or partial APC waivers during the submission process. We also offer institutional discounts for authors affiliated with organizations that have formal open access partnership agreements with DBIM.

5. Payment Process and Invoicing

APC payments are only required after your manuscript has been accepted for publication. Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive a formal invoice with detailed payment instructions. Payments can be made via credit card, bank transfer, or other approved methods, and we will provide a tax-compliant receipt or invoice for reimbursement purposes. APCs are non-refundable once publication has begun, but authors may request a refund before production starts if the manuscript is withdrawn for valid reasons approved by the editorial office.
