Call for Editorial Team Members
Prime Academic Press is currently expanding its editorial team at all levels and inviting applications from qualified scholars to serve as Editorial Leadership, Series Editors and Editorial Board Members for our growing list of academic series. We seek individuals with demonstrated expertise in their fields, a strong commitment to academic integrity, and a passion for promoting open access to research.
Available Positions
1. Editorial Leadership
We are seeking exceptional scholars to join our senior editorial leadership team, helping to shape the overall strategic direction of the press and ensure the highest standards of academic quality across all our publications.
Available Roles:
- Deputy Editor-in-Chief
- Executive Editor (by discipline)
- Associate Editor-in-Chief
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Editor-in-Chief in overseeing the overall editorial operations of the press
- Develop and implement editorial policies and ethical standards
- Lead the strategic development of new publishing initiatives and series
- Resolve complex editorial issues and disputes
- Represent the press at international conferences and academic events
- Build and maintain relationships with leading scholars and institutions worldwide
Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline
- Distinguished research record with international recognition in your field
- Extensive senior editorial experience (preferably with a major academic publisher)
- Proven leadership and management skills
- Ability to commit approximately 8-12 hours per week to editorial duties
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong vision for the future of open access academic publishing
2. Series Editors
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development and growth of a specific academic series
- Oversee the entire peer review process for submissions to the series
- Recruit and manage a team of editorial board members and reviewers
- Ensure the quality, relevance, and timeliness of published content
- Promote the series to the global academic community
- Advise the press on editorial policies and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline
- Extensive research experience and a strong publication record
- Previous editorial experience (journal or book editing preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to commit approximately 4-6 hours per week to editorial duties
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
3. Editorial Board Members
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rigorous peer reviews of submitted manuscripts
- Provide expert advice on manuscript acceptance and revision
- Assist in identifying potential authors and special topic proposals
- Promote the press and its publications within your professional network
- Contribute to the development of editorial policies and guidelines
Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline
- Active research program and a strong publication record
- Previous peer review experience
- Commitment to academic excellence and ethical publishing
- Ability to commit approximately 2-4 hours per month to editorial duties
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
