As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or LaTeX-compatible format.
  • All references include DOIs and URLs where available, and are formatted in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines.
  • The manuscript adheres to the journal’s formatting requirements, including line spacing, font size, and figure/table placement.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • All co-authors have approved the submission and agree to the corresponding author’s responsibilities.
  • If applicable, the submission includes all required supplementary materials (e.g., code, datasets, multimedia) as separate components.
  • Use of generative AI tools for text, code, or figures has been properly disclosed in the manuscript.
  • Ethics approval (e.g., IRB, IACUC) is included for human/animal research (where applicable).

AI Engineering & Applications (AIEA) welcomes high-quality, original submissions that advance artificial intelligence and its engineering applications. Manuscripts should present clear novelty, rigorous methodology, and meaningful practical relevance.

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, professional English.
  • Use consistent terminology, symbols, and units throughout the paper.
  • Number all figures and tables in order of appearance.
  • Ensure all figures are clear and publication-ready.
  • Provide complete and accurate references in a consistent format.

5. Publication Ethics and Integrity

  • Submissions must be original and must not be under review elsewhere.
  • All authors should have made substantial contributions and approved the final manuscript.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  • Research involving humans/animals must comply with applicable ethical standards.
  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, and image manipulation are strictly prohibited.

6. Data, Code, and Reproducibility

  • Authors are strongly encouraged to provide a data/code availability statement.
  • Where possible, share datasets, code repositories, and implementation details to support reproducibility.
  • If data cannot be shared, provide a clear justification.

7. Use of Generative AI Tools

  • Any substantive use of generative AI tools in writing, analysis, or figure preparation should be transparently disclosed in the manuscript.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.
