Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or LaTeX-compatible format.
- All references include DOIs and URLs where available, and are formatted in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines.
- The manuscript adheres to the journal’s formatting requirements, including line spacing, font size, and figure/table placement.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- All co-authors have approved the submission and agree to the corresponding author’s responsibilities.
- If applicable, the submission includes all required supplementary materials (e.g., code, datasets, multimedia) as separate components.
- Use of generative AI tools for text, code, or figures has been properly disclosed in the manuscript.
- Ethics approval (e.g., IRB, IACUC) is included for human/animal research (where applicable).

By submitting to and publishing in AI Engineering & Applications (AIEA), authors agree to the following terms:
- Copyright ownership: Authors retain copyright in their work.
- Right of first publication: Authors grant AIEA the right of first publication of the accepted and published version.
- Open-access license: Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
- Author warranties: Authors warrant that the submission is original, does not infringe any third-party rights, is not under consideration elsewhere, and contains no unlawful content.
- Third-party materials: Authors are solely responsible for obtaining written permission to reuse any copyrighted material (e.g., figures, tables, images, datasets, lengthy quotations) and for providing proper acknowledgments.
- Authorship responsibility: All listed authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions and approved the final submitted and published versions.
- Rights clearance and liability: Authors agree to indemnify the journal and publisher against claims arising from copyright infringement, defamation, privacy violations, or other legal breaches caused by submitted content.
- Repository and reuse rights: Authors may share and archive the published version in institutional or subject repositories, personal websites, or books, provided that first publication in AIEA is clearly acknowledged.
- Post-publication record: The journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when required to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record, in accordance with editorial ethics policies.
