APC Pricing

Digital Art & New Media Studies (DANMS) is a newly founded, peer-reviewed open access journal dedicated to digital art and new media research. We implement a fully transparent Article Processing Charge (APC) policy to support high-quality editorial services, peer review management, academic publishing, and long-term digital preservation. All published research is made freely accessible to readers worldwide under open access principles.

1. About Article Processing Charges (APC)

An APC is a one-time service fee charged ONLY after a manuscript is accepted for publication following double-blind peer review. DANMS does NOT charge any submission fees, page fees, color figure fees, or supplementary material fees. There are no hidden costs throughout the entire publication process. All APC funds are used to maintain academic quality and open access services.

2. APC Pricing Structure

To support academic research and celebrate the launch of DANMS, we offer a special introductory rate for the inaugural year. Our pricing applies uniformly to all manuscript types, including research articles, practice-based papers, critical essays, and reviews.

  • 2026 Launch Special Rate: $490 USD (for all manuscripts accepted in 2026)
  • Standard APC (2027 onwards): $790 USD (regular official publication fee)

3. Services Covered by APC

The APC covers all professional publishing services required to ensure academic rigor, wide dissemination, and long-term preservation of your work:

  • Rigorous double-blind peer review coordination and management
  • Professional copyediting, typesetting, and format standardization
  • Permanent DOI assignment and Crossref registration
  • Open access publication under CC BY 4.0 license
  • Long-term digital archiving and persistent URL maintenance
  • Global indexing promotion and academic database inclusion support

4. APC Discounts & Waivers

DANMS is committed to promoting equitable open access publishing. We provide the following discount and waiver policies in line with international academic publishing standards:

  • 50% exclusive APC discount for editorial board members and reviewers
  • Full APC waivers for authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries (World Bank classification)
  • Partial discounts (30%–50%) for authors from lower-middle-income countries
  • Free publication for invited special issue papers and review articles

5. Payment Process & Refund Policy

After manuscript acceptance, the corresponding author will receive a formal invoice and detailed payment instructions. Supported payment methods include international credit card, bank wire transfer, and institutional purchase order (PO). A tax-compliant receipt will be provided for reimbursement purposes. APC payments are non-refundable once the publication production process has started.
